Emergency Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence and Their Children at My Sisters' Place

MSP's operates two emergency shelters in Westchester County, providing a safe refuge for women and children who are fleeing an abusive partner.

The shelters provide a home-like environment, each with the capacity to house approximately 15 women and their children. Women and their children live together in the shelter and work cooperatively cooking meals, participating in household chores, and managing home life.

Shelter includes a private room for each family, 3 meals a day, counseling, support groups, assistance in finding housing and accessing public benefits, advocacy, legal services, counseling for children, homework help and after-school activities for children and teens, and celebrations on birthdays and holidays.
