Children's Services of My Sisters' Place
Robbie's Room
Since 1998 we have operated Robbie’s Room, an after-school program for children
who do not live in one of our emergency shelters, but who have witnessed or experienced
domestic violence in their homes. The program utilizes art and other creative activities
to help each child understand and heal from the trauma of their experience and to
foster the bond between the mother and child.
Children's Advocacy
For children residing in our emergency shelters, the Children's Advocate is available
to help parents address the individualized needs of each child and help secure such
services as educational assistance, healthcare, and other social services. My Sisters'
Place also has on staff a Clinical Social Work Supervisor who is available to assist
parents in dealing with the aftermath of domestic violence and the lingering effects
on children.
